Playing on the surface, persons are enthralled by the movements of the mind. Insights, discoveries, awakenings, epiphanies, aha moments, swells of love and unity, mystical experiences, profound understandings, expanded clarity, and the like are all captivating, exciting, interesting, challenging, ever new, and ever joyful. All this is the nature of the mind and keeps the person very much in the equation. The person seeks liberation and believes liberation can be and then has been attained, but it is liberation from the person that is reality.
Many teachers today are appealing to the person that wants to continue tasting enlightenment again and again and celebrate this experience. These teachers are for the most part keeping their mind’s employed by assuming a role of teacher. When the self proclaimed teacher dissolves back into emptiness, then all that is left is the teaching itself. At this point, there aren’t any teachers or students, any seekers or finders, any mind or any enlightenment. Sinking deep into one’s Self, way down below the surface sensations, the mind is returned to pure consciousness, where there is no identification with the body.
Until then, mind will continue to enjoy the ride, the show, the game, and be ever amazed at the many lessons there are to learn. Attempts to describe how there is no separation are clearly seen as the separation mechanism being continued, as well as the surface talk of how one sees all that the mind does but one is not the mind, so there is nothing to do but observe. This is more mind monologue to itself masquerading as a dialogue with another. Finally, one goes beyond even the understanding that all appearance is simply the mind interacting with itself in its many forms. The formless reality has never been and never will be something about which someone can know for it is prior to the mind and is only being itself.
