Today's Wisdom From Caroline Myss
"There is a mythology that would suggest that love is the greatest power of the human experience. That is a myth. We don't understand love. But if we went through it through self esteem, that would reposition it entirely.
Self esteem is the ability to have enough internal stamina so that your sense of who you are is not measured, based on or dependent upon the approval of the outside world.
You will compromise your integrity if you need someone else's approval in order to function in your body and your spirit.
Self esteem is your ability to have enough---and the words are---regard, respect---for yourself to not compromise what you can perceive, how you can live in this life in exchange for someone else's approval, physical safety and love to be perfectly honest with you. This is why self esteem rates just a little bit higher than love."
