I think the more time you spend with a person, the more likely you are to find them lovable.

For example, let's say two people of different races are asked to work together in a group project for university or work. They may have reservations about the other due to a lack of familiarity with the other's background, culture, and so on, but the more time they spend together, the more they will realise they have in common. This breaks down the barriers, and they are less afraid to emote. Over time, a bond will strengthen. (This is, of course, provided that the two people have compatible personalities.)

Yes, there is substantial social science research that strongly suggests that familiarity is a significant force for reducing all kinds of barriers and prejudices in people.
