I stumbled upon this photograph while doing research for an article I'm writing about the history of diversity in America. The striking beauty of it caught my attention when I first saw it. I do not know the name of the man in the photograph. The photo is of an American Indian of Pequot, Shinnecock and Arawak heritage at the 2008 New York City Gay Pride March. I was struck by, among other things, how beautifully the gay pride rainbow colors were woven into his ceremonial dress. Photo Credit:©Frank H. Jump
